  • Seems like its summer in September with endless sunny warm days and cooler nights. Its wonderful traveling weather. Gotten many things done which is what I expected. First to mention I found a chain that I had.so I took something off it and now I put what Andre had given me on my birthday several years ago. Its my birth stone which is green, an emerald that’s surrounded by diamonds. Now I have it around my neck and show it off as I wear it. Then I sent some luggage to my second cousin Scott and his wife. She teacher school. It should arrive by Tuesday, I sent it by Fedex. and it was very easy . So I’ll begin to use it instead of the local post office. Got Ian and Michele’s new address in Pa. So when I have a chance I’ll send the last of Andre’s hockey collection. I’ve got an eye appointment next Friday and Adam will take me there. We’ll go early because I will first go to cvs to pick up my blood pressure medicine. Adam still wants Andre’s minor saw that he made cassette tables. Have heard from many friends and relatives which some I haven’t heard from in a while. Still been reading my excellent book. Essentially written which is wonderful and there’s all great things about it. It’s actual history that I lived through and I would think everyone should read it and benefit by it. Life is good.

  • Luckily the weather is holding on nicely with warm sunny days and cooler nights. Just opened a bottle of Brisk Tea! For three days I tried and it refused to open. I called a friend, and she said to run it under hot water and it will loosen. While I was speaking to her, I ran it under hot water and sure enough it became loosened and I put it in 3 plastic drinking cups and put it in the refrigerator. Felt glad that was accomplished. There are other things that are on the horizon too. I have 3 doctor appointments this month and next, Adam is kind enough to take me there. I called him earlier this month actually it was the first of September. When I went to the grocery I just focused on food as far as the sodium is concerned. I made my own creation, which was spaghetti, garden sauce and shrimp. Its splendid and I will have it again. Another project is sending a present to Scott and Judy I might add that they are 2 pieces of luggage and its difficult to find a box for these. Hope a flat box will do.. I am reading a great book, Essential Writings Breslin The library of Congress. It is sensational. Actually started the same day I received it.

  • The weather here is cloudy with very dark clouds! Looks like it will rain before the day is done. The other day I had a glass jar of pickles and gently tapped it on the counter and it opened. Then ordered a couple of books that I have been wanting from amazon and had a time however with not giving up, it was shipped today and should arrive tomorrow! Then I was doing my French app and after a while the door was unlocked so I may do more French at my leisure. Some things are my quiet times of the day!

  • Here I am feeling fantastic! Have to comment on Dr Matthew Nelson at St. Johns rehab place. Had a brief conversation with him. It was on the subject of thursdur! It was on my chart that I personally didn’t know what it is and why it was my chart. He just explained it. He said ” when you pee all the liquid comes out including the sodium” So now I don’t have that! Though have to make sure! It was listed as an allergy on my chart. So I have to thank this doctor for noticing this. There was another time that I had low sodium and it was apparently when a doctor recommended a strong blood pressure that had a long name and began with the letter C. Apparently this blood pressure bill was highly used by many people. This blood pressure pill had a very bad reaction to my body! This was a stupid thing that this doctor did! Am now eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner each day. Seems that I am eating more than before, including a variety of soups. I asked questions with the nutritionist or the doctors office. Still nobody has come to the house. I asked them and it will take a month. However I’m doing everything possible to keep healthy and exercising twice daily. I’ve got an appointment with Dr. Dahl on the first of October. Before that I’ve got an appointment with Dr Plotnick and then in October have an appointment with Dr. Leanna Eduardo. Then I have to get an appointment with the dentist, There is so much I need to do, stretching out in different directions. Thats really what life is all about. Keeping busy and positive! And always Andre is giving me strength!

    I like this blog!

  • So again I have to retype this nothing new! On the 15th of July I was taken by ambulance to hospital with low sodium. I was in ICU then on to another part of the hospital Then on he 23rd I was transferred to St Johns Rehab for 3 weeks. Although I miss my sweet baby Oreo tremendously I just focused on better and stronger in every way. The physical therapists, the occupational therapists, and nurses and staff in general are simply angels of mercy. They all work long hours and always have a smile on their faces. I would recommend St Johns rehab to anyone! I was good to go on the 6th of August and am so very glad to have spent and extra week there! I might add I spoke to a nutritionist there and made a list of items that I keep handy for a list when I go grocery shopping. In fact just recently I did get the items! It so good to be home!

  • This is a well known throughout the world whether a person is in the US or other countries its unfortunately the same. Though some countries treat this differently. The subject of homelessness is well known though not spoken in conversations. And of course it should simply because to end something it should be conversed. There are many reasons a person ends up homeless. Look at all the veterans to fought tirelessly for their country and end up homeless. Let’s put an end to it. A novel idea is to give a person a home in which they could call their own. If you see a person who is homeless treat them with dignity and respect. Ask them if they are hungry and ask they if you could offer them a bite to eat and something to drink. Its very bad for neighborhoods to say “Not Here” That is most unkind! If your community center wants to have a homeless shelter in their vicinity then go ahead with it. There are many ways to have others feel welcome. And doing a good deed is good for everyone. Try that for a change and just maybe others will do the same as you are a leader and it becomes contagious

  • A countless amount of questions are asked at any one moment! These questions are very thought provoking and also well thought out before having asked them! Let’s take for instance the subject of medicine, homelessness, or for that matter any given subject! Without going into specifics: there are questions with very obvious answers, now let’s take the subject of donations. If someone gave their hard worked money to some worthy organization in the hope of curing some disease and asked a question about it, Then they would expect an answer. Knowing there are questions that don’t have answers One should be honest and say they don’t know the answer although that was a very good question! People should be honest! What happened to that? If they don’t know the answer they would say I don’t know though I will find the answer to your question. However there are many questions asked with no definitive answer!

  • Recently saw a very good program on pbs intitled Missing and Murdered. It was very sad though realistic. It was about indigenous peoples. They are in New Mexico which it took place. They are indigenous people in New York, In the western states of the US and also in Canada also! No one at all, knew where these human beings were and worse of all couldn’t seem to care. According to this program they were countless individuals women, men, and children missing without a trace. What is sad is that they had geiger counters on the ground! How in the world could someone do such a heinous act and not care in the least. The American Indians were the very first people in the earth! They deserve respect! It actually shouldn’t be like this! It’s a shame. I viewed the program simply for the knowledge!

  • When I was younger, I lived in Maryland which I simply liked very much. I would take several trips to nearby stares with my aunt and uncle during the summer months, It was a joyous time! I attended Hoy Cross Academy in Kensington, Md. I liked the school very much and the surroundings. There was a prom coming up in May and I was excited to go and have some fun, I didn’t have a date so I want on a blind date. On Friday night the date was arranged and I again was very happy to go. My date was very nice and caring. His name was John Laurence Gartner. He was very tall maybe 6 foot. He and I got along magnificently! It was a wonderful night and we thought the night wouldn’t end, we had such a tremendous time. We contacted one another either by phone or by some other way. He was my very first boyfriend! As the time went on. we would spend every waking moment together. He went to Gonzaga High School in Washington D.C. We were the same age and he had a birthday in January and I had a birthday in May. We would go to school during the week and then we would spent time each Saturday. He lived in Gaithersburg Maryland and I lived in Bethesda. That wasn’t a long drive. As the summer progressed, my family was moving to Indianapolis, Indiana. I, of course had to move as well. I went to a different school and I didn’t like it at all! I was very unfriendly and cold not weatherwise though otherwise. However I did what I could to cope with the surroundings. I would have a nick name for Indianapolis saying it Indian no place! As the time progress John went to Great Lakes Naval Academy in Illinois and I began working after high school. 5 years had passed and my sisters would say ” There a cute boy that likes you and you should go out and have some fun. Of course I refused saying I didn’t care to do that! Then I was coming home from school and my parents said you have a visitor outside! So I went outside and I was John Gartner at the end of the corner. He was with another boy. I quickly went outside and saw John. We had a lengthy chat and he wanted me to go with him. Being my logical self I said No, you’ve changed! I said this statement in a soft voice not being angry in the least. He left and I went on with daily items. Then after 1 month had passed I got a letter postmark Phoenix and I opened it! I was from John and he had he got some girl pregnant and had to marry her. It also said that” You were the only girl I loved and will always love you” When I read this I simply cried! I took the letter and put it a fire. The reason why I rejected him was simply that I was very unhappy at home and I didn’t want that unhappiness to be transferred to him. I say I wish him all the love in this world and I also wish him good health always.

  • Years ago, I had the opportunity to visit Europe 13 countries in 3 weeks! The countries were and are Austria, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Ireland, Portugal, Spain, France, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and the United Kingdom! It was breathtaking, wonderful unforgettable experience! While on a train I met a young man Francesco Pellicano he was Italian and spoke French! We said to each other Write to me and sure enough we wrote to each other sending cards and letters for 2 years. He of course wanted me to go back to Italy! During that time after a year I met David and fell in love with him and we got married! I stop writing to Franco! Surely he found a fine lady and fell in love with her too! It was a terrific experience. Of course I still have his cards and letters and photo! French is my second language. He taught me the language Italian and I intended to teach him English! Bust after a year I started dating David. After 21 years of marriage David died due to diabetes! Being married was the greatest glorious time we both had!
